"While this stay lacks in the polished stays of a fancy resort it makes up ten-fold in charm and personality. This was the coziest most wonderful stay we've had on our trip yet and we'll definitely be back. "Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel in Hakone and would probably choose it again if we return. The only real downside is that there is no on-site staff. There is no one to receive or store your luggage before check-in, and the entire check-in process is done through a video call using a device at the entrance. You don’t interact with a staff member in person at any point during your stay. The hotel also doesn’t offer any additional amenities beyond what is already provided in the room. That said, the rooms are exceptionally spacious, very well equipped, spotless, and built to a high standard. Everything felt comfortable and well maintained. Even though we only stayed for a short time, we really enjoyed our stay and wished we had been able to spend more time there. Overall, if you’re looking for a large, clean, and comfortable place to stay in Hakone and don’t mind the fully self-service experience, this is an excellent choice."
