This place is a hidden gem, allowing guest to escape into the jungle with secluded privacy, serenity and excellent bird watching! The rooms are just as pictured and had great amenities (individual hot water heater, AC units in all rooms, private plunge pool, screen doors to enjoy nature, and a jacuzzi - though not heated as Expedia advertised due to a mistranslation). Breakfast and dinner were provided by an amazingly talented chef, Alejandro, who always delivered exceptional-tasting food. During our stay, we basically had the place to ourselves which us introverts enjoyed. The host, Louisa, was beyond helpful and made our stay extra special. Our biggest thank you was a complimentary spa experience with a Mayan ritual scrub given by the onsite masseuse, Helena. We also appreciated the villa switch so that we could be fully immersed in the beauty this place has to offer. For the road leading to the property, saying it is rough is an understatement LOL. The cars have to go so slow to not be damaged by the huge pot holes BUT, it is worth it! We rented bikes from the nearby Adora hotel which was a savior because Taxis in Tulum add up quickly. We HIGHLY recommend bike transportation when staying here so you can enjoy all the beach clubs, national parks, and shopping (try for rentals with cash deposit over ID holds). Every place in Tulum has its ups and downs and we certainly doubted some things during our stay but in the end we had an amazing time and will stay here again!

Kuhn Taak Tulum is a very special place! Surrounded by serene jungles, it is truly a gem! We stayed in a family villa and it was so private and absolutely beautiful. It is very spacious and the bed is extremely comfortable. Amazing pillows. Fluffy towels. The private pool was a dream and there’s even a secret shower built into the Mayan style brick wall. Not only is the actual place perfect; but the team here are so wonderful and accommodating! Luisa made our stay so much better by taking the best care of us! We also ate dinner at the Distrito Maya, the in site restaurant and the dinner was superb! Every bite was perfect! I would strongly recommend staying at Kuhn Taak. Just make sure to rent an SUV and remember you’re in the jungle. The area is still developing and the roads are bumpy, but totally worth it! I will totally come back again!!! Thank you Kuun Taak and Luisa for making this a memorable stay!

Bad road, no laundry service and bad utilities

Light Went out multiple times, and our final day the water was out as well and no one to be found at the front desk for assistance. Main road street 29 is the WORST with horrible access to and from the property, dirt road with tons of holes. Hotels.com site states there’s laundry service and the hotel has none.

Nous avons passé un bon sejour. Le cadre de l’hotel est tres calme et agreable, semblable aux descriptions. Il est indispensable d’etre vehicule car c’est loin de la plage, des restaurants, des commerces. Mais C’est ce qui fait le charme. La route d’acces est une piste comme beaucoup de routes a Tulum. Le personnel est peu nombreux mais Luisa repond rapidement aux demandes si besoin. Les contacts ne fonctionnent pas bien en amont et nous avons eu du mal a avoir des details pour notre arrivee. Le restaurant n’est pas ouvert tout le temps et le choix est limite. C’est dommage car le cadre est vraiment sympa. Les villas sont vraiment spacieuses et agreables . Ils manquent des equipements en cuisine pour pouvoir vraiment de faire a manger. Tout est a l’ombre ce qui est bien pour eviter trop de soleil. Mais ceux qui recherchent vraiment le soleil et la lumiere seront decus. C’est sombre. J’ai adore le hamac sous le carbet et le bain de piscine le matin avant d’attaquer la journee. En revanche le jacuzzi ne fonctionnait pas correctement.

It was rustic, very authentic trying to respect nature, if you want a quiet nice private space for your family and friends this is the place, though the roads to the hotel aren’t paved yet, making transportation difficult but, it is very cozy, me and my family would recommend it for big family’s.

My family and I loved this place!! Omg I can say with so many places we have stayed at this place by far has beat all the other locations in everything! From the communication to knowing we had kids they out did everything to my family. They gave us so much attention and help in any questions we had. I was also celebrating my anniversary and they gave me an idea to renew our vows with a beautiful ceremony that they can offer and let me tell you they did an amazing job! It was a beautiful ceremony outside with nature and the whole meaning of it was beautiful. We also had our last dinner there and the menu was sky rocket! Geraldo who was the bartender did an amazing job with drinks and food. He’s such an amazing person who cater to my family like if it was his own family. Luisa was a beautiful persona as well who organized everything from our stay to the ceremony and even taking our pictures during a renewal of our vows. Everyone here is amazing you won’t be disappointed at all I promise you will fall in love with this place because I know I did and my family to.

The staff were absolutely fantastic! Even though my Spanish is limited and their English wasn't perfect, we were still able to communicate well using a translator, and they were so helpful throughout my stay. The room was comfortable, and the bed was super cozy. I only wish I had arrived earlier to enjoy the pool! Unfortunately, I missed out on that, but when I found out the on-site restaurant was closed, the staff went above and beyond to help me order from Uber Eats, which was a great solution. Like other reviews have mentioned, the road leading to the resort could use some attention. The potholes were huge, and after a recent storm, they filled with water, making the drive a bit tricky. Given how many other resorts and condos are nearby, I'm surprised they haven't tackled that yet. The only other hiccup was arriving after dark. With no street signs or lights, and the building lights being a bit dim, it was tough to find the place, even with GPS. I missed it on my first try, and with no mobile data to recalibrate, it was a little challenging. But once I found it, everything fell into place, and I was happy to be there!

Totally enjoyed our stay! Recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing place to vacation. The service we received was great. The villa we stayed was clean, well maintained. All employees were very polite and helpful.The food from the restaurant was also great.

When arriving to Kuun Taak, we got our walk-thru and I really liked what I saw. The property is very beautiful and has a second floor since we booked the family section with two bedrooms, private hot tub and a private pool. The hot tub on the second floor still had leaves in it. This was a huge disappointment since I was looking forward to the hot tub after a long trip..but I digress and I didn't make a big deal at the time. I was told that if I make a request that the hot tub would be prepared. We got there at 8pm due to the rental car agency taking so long to process our rental agreement. We considered going to the restaurant but was told that it was closed but we could go the next day when opened. So we left to go to another restaurant - had a really good time and good food - afterwards returned to find that we were locked out. Since we didn't have the code to open the front gate entrance, we knocked and yelled as loud as we could. No answer...we called...No answer. I couldn't get good reception to call another hotel to book so we just decided to sleep in our car - (thank God we rented a car - which I highly would suggest) so not a good start. So we had a rough night and contacted Expedia for a partial refund since we ended up not enjoying that first night. Expedia said they attempted to contact the manager but said they could not reach them so emailed him instead. Juan Carlos, property manager really tried hard to make it up to us so we did end up enjoying ourselves.
