Uptown District hotels in Banff

"Very nice hotel and swimming pool is good staff is very good."

"While the staff did all they could to resolve our issues (over heating, key cards not working) there were things that were missing that would have made our stay more enjoyable. The room temp was 26 and we had to turn off the thermostat and open the patio door to bring it to a normal 21/22 degree temp. There are no towel bars to hang up damp towels. The vanity is very small and the light above the vanity was too dim for me to apply my makeup. Insufficient lighting in the room made it difficult to read. Dresser drawer knobs in room 309 made it very hard to open drawers. They are smooth with nothing to grip to allow an easy opening. There was no table in our room and only one chair and one footstool which made socializing with our friends impossible. We did not want to use the beds to sit on. The fridge was good. The coffee maker worked well as did the kettle. The bathroom was super crowded and there was nowhere to hang damp bathing suits or towels. For a newly renovated hotel, and the price we were charged per night, we expect more. Maybe this is simply a case of new reno’s and the subsequent growing pains. When we were checking in on Monday afternoon, we showed up 20 minutes before 4:00 pm and had to wait until 4:00 exactly before they would give us the room number and keys. This is not typical for a hotel in Banff on a Monday afternoon. Especially when we noticed the large number of housekeeping staff in the hallway upon arrival. "
