Called the "Little White House" due to the fact that President Franklin D. Roosevelt spent quite a bit of time here. The nearby Warm Springs brought some relief to the pain he endured due to polio. It was in this house that he died on April 12, 1945, shortly after having been elected President of the United States for his fourth term.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt visited Warm Springs, Georgia in 1924 to seek relief from the polio that had stricken him three years earlier. He enjoyed his time at the springs pool so much that he bought the complex in 1926 and turned it into a therapeutic center for the treatment of polio. The pool is empty most of the time, but you can still visit it and see some of the original equipment used in the treatment of patients.
FDR had this modest cottage built in 1932 while he was Governor of New York. He would continue to visit here during his Presidency taking advantage of the naturally warm spring waters that are close by. He would suffer a massive stroke and die here on April 12, 1945.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pikes Peak! Check in was a breeze and the cabin had everything we needed for our stay. I love the location, quiet with a short drive to town. Most of our trip was spent at the cabin enjoying the fireplace, relaxing on the porch and in the hot tub! I highly recommend ...

Cozy, warm, pet friendly - location is remote, but convenient to Callaway Gardens... Good restaurants in the village. Local Grocery store choices were disappointing. Definitely plan ahead.
