The place has amazing public baths with indoor and outdoor areas. Staff are really kind and helpful. There is a restaurant on site but didn’t try it. "The hotel was a little far from the train / bus station. It provided a free shuttle service on the morning from hotel to the train station, but only 3 or 4 times. Did not provide free shuttle service from train station to the hotel."

"This was perfect for traveling with kids. The room was large, there was a public and private bath. Staff were great with my toddler and there are kids areas and free snacks for them, while it's also in walking distance to other things in Gora. I would stay again. "

"This is a true"little (Japanese) hut in the mountains" with great onzen experience! You just have to embrace the whole experience. If you do, this is definitely 5 stars! If not, maybe look for a more westernized hotel instead. Just one caution, this mountain resort is up on a winding mountain road around .5-1km from bus stop "sengyoro mae". If you have heavy luggage, it's worth using baggage service at Hakone Yumoto station. I hauled it up the hard way and that was a sauna experience in itself,...

"The room we stayed in was a traditional style Japanese room where we slept on futons. They were very comfortable, and we had full views of Mt. Fuji from our room! The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. They even tracked down the local bus for us when it was running a few minutes late and gave us tea and coffee while we waited. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a little quieter than the hustle of places near Lake Kawaguchi."

There are two convenience stores about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and Lake Kawaguchiko is about a 15 minute walk.
