"It's not the Ritz, but is clean, comfy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and it's quiet, being set back from the main A6. The hotel is being gradually refurbished and it does need it as the decor is very dated. You can tell that it was previously a Premier Inn. It was reasonably priced for one night. I didn’t frequent the attached pub so can't comment on food quality. "

"The Spread Eagle is a traditional pub with a small number of bedrooms in the Southern suburbs of Manchester. My room had a comfortable single bed, with a private bathroom across a (fire exit) corridor. My only problem was that I almost got trapped in the bathroom, as the door lock was badly fitted. There's onsite parking at the rear. It doesn't serve breakfast, but there are plenty of options nearly, even on a Sunday, including a Costa, a Caffe Nero and a Wetherspoons. Access from the city...

"After a rather pot holed approach road to the site you are greeted by a terraced bungalow complex. On my second night I discovered there is accommodation in the attic with bare floor boards- I had a rather noisy person above me! These should be carpeted as a courtesy to those on the ground floor.The person who checked me in was pleasant but not thorough with information. I met her in the grounds as I was checking out and her dog was growling at me.My room was adequate and nicely carpeted with...
