"Such a delight to find a Portobello hotel in Worthing as the Westow House in Crystal Palace has become a favourite. The Railway lives up to the Portobello standard. Great rooms with individual character. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Great bar and extensive outside area. Staff are extremely welcoming and friendly especially Riley and Lewis. And £5 off a beer for registering for the Portobello pub club - doesn’t get any better"

"The hotel is really close to The Historic Dockyard, the reason for our visit and had a vacancy. The room was great, lovely comfortable bed with good quality bedding and towels. The en-suite was compact but modern and clean. We had a harbour view looking at HMS Warrior and although right on the road with the trains and buses nearby the room was really quiet. Breakfast was included in the price and provided a great start to the day with continental and cooked available. The staff were friendly,...

"Loved the fact it was right by the Prom. so could walk into Bognor or could just have a lovely walk to the left or right."

"Great traditional hotel perfect for a local running event. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely evening meal at the on site restaurant (recommend the passion fruit posset) and the hotel kindly let me have an early breakfast. Only a couple of minor issues with road noise and light coming in from the side of curtain but this is just an observation - I am a light sleeper - and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Recommend and I will be returning! Thank you!"

"The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained."

"We had a room with a view of the Spinnaker Tower plus a sofa bed for a bit more room. Perfectly fine for our one night stay on a Sunday night and very central for tower, boat trip , dockyard, outlet stores etc. We tried Pho ( vietnamese style) just on the front of the Gunwharf Quay and loved it for our evening meal. Parking easy in Gunwharf Quay and the hotel validates your ticket so you don't have to pay to park your car. Just remember to use your room key card first to activate the lift in...
