“We stayed in one of the cottages which although a bit dated offer a lot of space and character. The room itself was spotless and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Loftsome bridge although off a main road for convenience is lovely and quite due to it being a good distant back from it, so you get the best of both worlds a good nights sleep and connectivity to all the local attractions with York not being too far away. “Staff were impeccable. Food excellent.
Whole standard of the place was top class. Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character. ”

“Very comfy big bed, shower and taps took ages to get hot, but eventually did. Lots of tea and coffee options in room together with a fridge with wine and snacks if required. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. Bit strange going in and out at back of the building, but happy to recommend as somewhere central to stay.”

“The setting is beautiful and the staff amazing. We took our 2 Spaniels with us and stayed in a dog friendly suite. Room was huge and surprisingly warm considering it was a converted Castle. Breakfast in the morning was decent and you are within 25 mins of York. All in all a great trip and we will 100% stay here again. ”

“Such a wonderful overnight stay, the reception staff were welcoming upon arrival, our room was perfect and had a fanatstic view. The golfing staff were really friendly and helpful. The food in Tykes for the evening meal was amazing, the best pork I've ever had! Breakfast was lovely, a perfect place to stay, we will be back! ”
