The Saratoga is an old beach hotel. It’s nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The best thing about it is its location from the beach.

Arrived a little early, however check in was not until 3. Not a problem. Beach was was not more than a block away. When our room was ready, friendly front desk lady gave us a call. The room was spacious and VERY clean. I would come back.

When I arrived after check in, the room was not going to be available for another 40 minutes so I relaxed on the beach, although not the best weather. The beach is literally a block from Saratoga and it is absolutely beautiful. I was impressed that there was housekeeping every day knocking on the door to clean the room although I did not need it. I had a maintenance issue with the bathtub overflow that fell off and maintenance was at another hotel so another female employee came back in to reattach it. Again, impressed. There is a cute little cafe attached to the hotel if you want to get coffee, smoothies or a sandwich. As my first experience in the crest, I would say I was pleased and would definitely go back.

This was a last min. booking for me and I was pleasantly surprised. I have been coming to this area for the last 35 years. The Saratoga was clean, nice, convenient and priced right. Everything worked in the bathroom and was spotless. The beds were comfortable and clean. I only stayed one night but I may consider staying here on longer trips next time.

Best hotel in Wildwood Crest

Everything was very clean & I was very impressed. Usually hotels that are more expensive at the Jersey shore smell musty because of seawater being in carpeting. But Saratoga was exceptionally clean. I felt safe. The ac worked great and mattress was great. The pool was clean. Staying less than a block from the sand was priceless.

This is an older facility. That being said, you can't beat the price considering the location. The room was small but clean. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was small; The tv guide said there were 24 available channels but only half had sound. The staff was very courteous. All in all, if you didn't go to the beach for the room but rather the beach, you got a good buy.

Satisfactory, but...

I initially didn’t want to leave a review out of respect for how hard the staff was working, but I eventually changed my mind because this motel could benefit from improvements—especially for the sake of future guests. The inn looks somewhat refreshed, but only partially. I can’t speak for all the rooms, but ours had several issues. The bathroom had a poorly painted tub with peeling paint, and the ceiling showed visible mold spots that had just been covered with a thin layer of paint. Both the bathroom and bedroom had small, dirty windows with transparent tape around them, which looked unappealing. The sofa bed also needed a thorough vacuuming inside. Another important point: the property was advertised on Hotels.com as having an ocean view. In reality, it does not. A tall condominium directly in front blocks the full ocean and beach view. On the positive side, the motel is just steps from the beach, has a beautiful pool, and there’s a convenient café right on the corner of the building. I hope this feedback helps the owners focus on needed improvements and advertise the property more accurately for future customers.

This is such a well designed room. You enter in the living room, which has a dinette and small kitchenette, with stovetop, microwave and full-sized fridge; leading to a bedroom with a very comfy pillow top bed and the hall ending in a bathroom. This is an older hotel, but the rooms have been updated. The rooms are kept very clean. The pool is a nice size, also kept clean. The beach is a very short walk. The boardwalk is 1&1/2 mile, a nice bike ride (bring your bike!). There is a nice bike pathway that is adjacent to the beach, leading to the boardwalk. The Cape May Wildlife Refuge is 1&1/2 mile, as well. Definitely check out the Wildlife Refuge and the beach and dune hikes that end in views of untouched beach and wetlands for bird viewing.

This property should not be categorized as a "Resort". It is in a great area, being half a block from the beach/ocean and ten minutes drive from the boardwalk. However, the property is really just a motel with a pool. The room was okay. We didn't get an ocean view, but that was not a deal-braker for me. We go a Keurig coffee maker and microwave, but they had to be carried across the room so we could plug them in. There was a rectangular window behind the beds, but with no curtains. A lot of light came in which woke us at 6:30 the first morning. I no the staff, which were very pleasant, would have done something, but we just placed things on the windowsill to block the light.
