Great place and perfect location for us!

Loved this place! So convenient to my son’s place, grandsons’s school and many stores and restaurants in the area. Very clean and comfy in a great neighborhood, with a private entrance and all the comforts of home. Host was very responsive and easy to work with. So glad we found this place!

Highly recommend!

Location and ease could not be better. We drove from Michigan and this place has free parking on the street. We never had a problem finding a spot. The street and residence is beautiful and has a well lit private entrance. Lots of shops and places to eat within walking. We also walked to the train to head into the heart of the city. We will book here again when we come back to visit our family.

Great location but noisy and hard to control temp

Very loud noise from house above, even into late hours marked as “quiet hours” for guests. Also seems like heat and cooling is controlled through the floor so we were unable to really control the temp at all.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful stay in this property. It is clean and comfortable. It is a basement unit with ample light. There is no kitchen and no laundry so one has to manage those expectations. For us, the location was perfect as we were visiting family in the neighborhood. Also, no closet but plenty of drawers. We had trouble with the keypad on arrival but the management company was very quick to respond and we were provided a key. It was great for two of us and can easily accommodate a child but it would be crowded with four adults. Overall, it’s a great place to stay, we would love to stay here again. Our priority is visiting family in the neighborhood vs activities downtown.

Lovely place but living area very dark with little natural lighting

Great quiet neighborhood, place is perfect for two people. Nicely furnished. One Con is there is very little natural light in living area as it is a basement type unit. You can hear walking and talking above you. Happy kid noises so ok with me. The bedroom has a lot of nice light from windows. Does not have a closet which may or may not matter to you. Bathroom is detached from the bedroom and you walk across living area to get it. Overall very lovely peaceful, albeit dark place to stay. Enjoyed my time there.

The code to open the door did not work be used the lock battery was dead. The owner of the unit who lives upstairs had to open the door for us. Be used the lock was self locking we were unable to leave the unit until the concierge support answered our service call to give us access to the back up key for the door.

Lovely accommodations

Excellent location; clean and comfortable and uncluttered.Had trouble with the code getting in, but a quick phone call fixed the problem. Will return again.

Nearly ideal

As new DePaul parents, the location was ideal. Some major hiccups though: 1. The access code didn't work. These things happen, but response time via messaging was too long. I did call the service number provided and they got us in fairly quick. Lesson learned: Call the number first. 2. We indicated in advance we would be using the provided air mattress, but they left no sheets. Message time was again an issue, and when they contacted the property manager, the answer was "there were sheets left." (There definitely was not.) The back-and-forth took too long that we didn't get clean sheets until night two, which was less than ideal considering the price. Other notes: Our first time in the area, so I messaged ahead of time to ask about parking and was told it's best to book a SpotHero, which I did. The night before, the check-in message said parking is free and easy, which it was. Bottom line: No need to reserve parking. The unit is in a lower level, and you'll hear the pitter patter of feet above. There are steps down into the entrance and a step up into the bathroom as an FYI for those with mobility issues. The unit itself was very nice and clean. Cannot beat the location in Lincoln Park. It's a beautiful, walkable neighborhood with plenty of places to eat and explore.

Weekend stay

Property was perfect. Pictures on VRBO accurate. Location felt very safe. People in above unit were a little loud until 10:30 pm. Would be better if quiet zone was from 9 pm to 8 am.

Bad start

Getting into the apartment was a nightmare. There is a 4 PM check-in. After multiple tries the keypad didn't work. I contacted VRBO who in turn tried to contact RedAwning. I was told that RedAwning was closed and to get a hotel room. My husband and I had taken a Lyft from Midway and had no idea of what hotels were available plus the temperature had dropped almost 25 degrees from when we flew in from. One hour and forty five minutes later the host called and gave me the master keypad code that didn't work and finally gave me the code for a lockbox attached to the fence. Freezing and hungry we went to bed. I would suggest that the host be on call when guests arrive. I'm waiting to hear from RedAwning if we will get a adjustment in payment for this horrible treatment.

Nice but noisy

I forgot that “garden” apartment usually means basement; nevertheless it was a lovely neighborhood and nice enough unit. The biggest problem was kids running around, starting at 7:00am. They also made quite a bit of noise until I left mid morning each day. There was also no actual kitchen: just a microwave and coffee maker that, was set up to only brew 1 large cup.

Easy stay for DePaul family

This property is super convenient to DePaul campus. We stayed here while moving our son in to his residence hall for the school year. Could walk to and from everything on campus in mere minutes.

Perfect for us

This was our second visit here. This is the perfect location for us. Near our son, near our grandson’s school, and so close to restaurants and transportation. Very clean and there is always free street parking available without needing a permit. We will be back :)
