“This is a lovely boutique hotel that is newly renovated to take advantage of the unique caves in Matera. There is a beautiful view over the gorge. We spent 3 nights here and the lovely owner spent time with us each day curating a perfect itinerary for seeing Matera. There was free parking nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was good. It’s about a 10 min walk into the main part of town, but it’s nice to be on the edge with the view and it’s super quiet. ”

“It’s a very nice cave hotel that is very conveniently located to explore the old Matera on foot. It is safe and quiet at night. There is also a very good restaurant right outside the door Dominica was absolutely wonderful. She came to meet me all the way at the airport, even though my flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until the evening. "The service was great. We parked at the parking lot recommended by the hotel, and there was a free shuttle that took us to the hotel. We stayed in a separate room, which had a bit of a damp smell. The room was about a 5-minute walk from the reception and the breakfast/spa area — it took a few time to remember the route. But getting lost in Matera is also a kind of romance."
