"Hotel was just ok, but they had an open fire in the reception area, which basically smelled the whole of the hotel out, and our clothes still smell of it. Had to leave the bedroom window open all night to let fresh air in, even though my wife was cold. On the plus side I would definitely go back to Llangollen it was lovely, but would not stay at this hotel."

"Am giving yhis a very low rateing of 2 stars. I payed £130 for a room breakfast and use of pool. Put on arrival i got told pool and sauna is not included to which i had tp pay exter £10 each. The pool and the spa was cold The steam room stayed on for 5min then went off for 10min as it was on a timer we then had to pay extra for breakfast This is not clealy showing on there site as you pay for just room only. when i booked myself in at the desk the afternoon staff at the desk were very helpful. The next mornin i went down to the deck To be stud around for 10min as no staff were on the desk. I then came back down to hand my key in. Myself and 2 other customers was stud around again for 10min as no staff. But some good points the Rooms were clean and bed was really comfortable. I will not be staying at that hotel again as it miss leadingthat you have to pay extra for breakfast, the use of the pool and towels. "

"Horrible experience - do not waste your money on this property!Dan was by far the worst host we’ve ever experienced - I would go as far as calling him a fraud. The property is NOT as described. Nowhere on the listing does it say that you have to heat the house with logs - Dan does not provide logs despite charging an arm and a leg for this rental. We had to spend hundreds extra just to keep warm. The hot tub takes longer than 6-8 hours to heat up (again waste of our money on logs) and when we told Dan about this his response wasn’t helpful - he told us to just use the sauna instead. So beware - you pay for the use of these items and despite paying even more to actually use them you can’t and there is no concern from the owner. The wifi doesn’t work well, the place was not clean (the carpet was revolting), the kitchen items to use to cook with were filthy and had black crust all over them, there is not enough room for everyone to sit in the living room despite it being advertised as somewhere that can accommodate up to 11 people. You can’t use the toilet after you shower because the entire bathroom floor is wet as the shower drain is next to the toilet. Our most serious concern was the fact that the youngest member of our party (12 year old boy) was the only one to drink the water from the tap and he was violently ill for 2 days following.
