We enjoyed the retro style of the place. There are lots of nice touches such as the style of the rooms and the lobby/breakfast areas. The clubhouse is a nice touch as well as the tables and chairs in front of each room.

The room was super cool, very clean and the staff was awesome. I stayed in a room that was computer themed based on the room number. It was clever and groovy. I would recommend the RETRO hotel to anybody who wants to support a cool local business

We were booked into the Great Gatsby room. On initial check-in the front desk said that this room was not “dog friendly” but they made an exception after realizing that it was booked through a third party- not the most accurate way to book. So big points for handling what could have been a disappointing situation.
The “Great Gatsby room” was fabulous. Big, cool furniture, monster shower, very cool vibe - very “Elvis”. Highly recommend!
The Reteo Inn is a very cool alternative to the cookie cutter offerings by the big hotel/motel chains/ franchises. I can’t speak for all the rooms, but the “Great Gatsby”and all the common areas I experienced were unique. Someone had spent some time, money, and thought into making what can be a very utilitarian experience something fun and different.
And I must compliment the night desk staff on going above and beyond to fix a minor problem we had with our TV remote.
The “continental breakfast” was more than adequate. All in all, a very nice experience!

Rooms are appropriately retro themed. We stayed in “1981”. Although it smelled like 1981 and some of the features reminded us of 81 the room had Super cool design and was very comfortable and quiet. Will definitely recommend and stay if ever again in Cortez.

This place is a gem on a street lined with multiple chain hotels. I was curious about the "retro" theme, and I was not disappointed. Quite, clean, and unique are exactly what I wanted. I would stay again.

So great! Pictures of The Bee Gees and Saturday Night Fever in my room. Very clean! Easy check-in! Close to so many great restaurants and cafes…quick drive to Mesa Verde National Park. The whole area is beautiful! They have me great recommendations to restaurants…

Exceptional property. They actually had protein and fiber, and other items that were not completely processed sugar. They did, however, still have plenty of sugary processed breakfast items as well. Even if was boiled eggs, inexpensive fruit, and plain oatmeal, it's nice to have a healthier option to start the day.
The clubhouse was cute and cozy, and had a pool table and a newer PlayStation--I think, as anything beyond PS2 is new to me. There were also a few other games as well.
The property felt spaceous with a few outdoor activities, and space to stretch out of you need a little space to cut the grass. The property was also conveniently located with a Walmart across the street and the main strip a short walk down the road. Dispensary and a late night Denny's across the street as well.
The room has all the basic amenities, and decent ones at that. The towels were quality, and the short head was great for a warm soak after a cold day, though make sure you have the temperature adjusted before entering.
Maybe I am at that age but I loved the retro feel of the place. I am big fan of old-fashioned motels and inn where you can pull the car right up to your room to unload. The nostalgia added not only to the ambiance, but also to the overall vibe of the property.
A great spot for small group, couple or solo adventurers like myself. Oh, and a load of laundry was only $2.50, and my two full loads which included a blanket and jeans came out completely dry! Staff was great!

Very clean large and updated room, extremely comfortable bed.very cool vibe throughout the entire motel. Good breakfast, great location. We were placed in a room at the rear of the property, and had no road noise at all. We totally enjoyed our stay.
