“An outstanding property, I couldn’t fault this place. Very clean and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The host was very professional at check in. Very secure for parking. I will definitely stay here again if visiting the area. Shops only 5 minutes walk. A true home from home feel from start to finish”

“If the mattress was good I would have given a full 10, but unfortunately it was severely dipped, The room however was very nice with quality touches.”

“What a lovely place to stay! Stayed here for a night for work nearby. The room was pretty, the bed super comfortable, the temperature lovely and cosy, the bathroom toiletries and bed linens all super high quality. Wi-Fi was strong and meant I could work. But best of all, they really had thought of everything in the room… a thoughtful and plentiful hamper of breakfast items and treats; a mini fridge with fresh milk, juice, water, fruit and chocolate; a hairdryer; and even a pretty stone coaster……

“The bar staff at check-in were friendly. The rooms are upstairs in old characterful Essex pub in a pretty village. There are only four parking spaces which were taken so we parked behind the local co-op a short walk away. The room itself was small but clean and well equipped. However, the biggest issue is the lack of ventilation in the room which was hot and airless without the radiator being on. We had to have the fan on all night (in December) as couldn’t open the window and the extractor in……

“First time staying and we were impressed. Rooms are spacious and clean. Having a bath in our family room would have been better for our younger children. The receptionist was very helpful, welcoming and friendly! The restaurant food was good. The breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice. Great for both adults and children. I would definitely recommend and would stay again. ”

“We stayed in this property for 5 days (December 11 to 16). On checking out, we asked for the total fee for our parking our vehicle for the 5 nights. We were told it costs £8 a night and to pay using the machine at the gate. We did. We paid £40 for the 5 nights. We got home, and received a £60 "fine" for parking at this hotel, even though we paid, we have the receipt and it shows in our credit card. We got another £60 admin fee charged by our car rental company to our card for this same……
