Great Spot!

This place served our large family so well. The pool was fantastic and beach access straight across the beach couldn’t have made that better. Comfortable house, no fuss, great linens, well equipped kitchen, lots of outdoor space and private porches. We enjoyed our week there.

Family week

Great location and friendly owner. The pool made the vacation and was the most popular part of the trip with the young kids.

The beach can't be accessible when high tide. It's great to have the pool, but it needs to be cleaned more often.

Family vacation at beach

Great location across from beach. Pool in backyard was used everyday after playing on beach. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was great, no standing in line. Plenty of room for meals, games and sitting together. Porch swing was used every day. We had a great time at Castle by the

Great family vacation

We had a great week at the Castle by the Sea with 3 children from toddler to pre-teen and 6 adults. The beach access is very near and an easy walk from the house. Loved the mostly packed sand beach which was uncrowded. The front porch was a favorite place to hang out and the pool was high on the kids’ list of favorite things. The rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed gathering our family around the dining room table almost every evening for meals and games. We loved the proximity to Charleston. One easy improvement I could see would be making some cabinet space available in the kitchen….the cabinets have the regular “stocked kitchen” items but also was packed with the owner’s personal odds and ends that made fitting our pantry items in a bit of a challenge. (It was like trying to merge a week’s worth of things for 9 people into someone’s already actively lived-in kitchen). Once that Tetris puzzle was solved, we enjoyed a great week.

Wonderful pool and proximity the the beach!

Great pool and space in need of a few tweaks to accommodate renters. We really enjoyed our week at Folly Beach in Castle By The Sea. We're locals taking a mini-vacation due to all our big summer plans being cancelled due to COVID-19 so we are very familiar with the area and all the great things Folly has to offer. The pool is definitely the best part of the house and we spent a lot of time enjoying it. We've rented places with pools and Folly but this pool was the best because the water was warm due to no shading. You are directly across the street from the beach (limited view) so access is very easy. House has plenty of room for a big family and lots of bathrooms. The pool ladder broke 1st day we were there but the property manager replaced the broken rung quickly. I suggest adding a grill (no grill onsite), a broom or Swiffer with basic cleaning supplies, and allowing access to the elevator for loading and unloading.

A great relaxing get away

This house was perfect! It was super close to the beach, easy walk back for restroom or resupply of beverages. The neighborhood was quiet (which I think all of Folly is). The pool was perfect after a day at the beach. It wasn't one of those small ones that is there just so they can say they have a pool. It was large and deep and refreshing. The house was large with a great front porch that got lots of ocean breeze to keep it cool under the roof.

Great house for the price and location

Overall the house is in a great location with beach access across the street. The pool was clean with floats in it with lounge chairs. It was about a 5 minute drive to downtown Folly. About a 25 minute drive from downtown Charleston. I would recommend having a car or rent a golf cart because you can't walk to anything. The house is a little outdated from an appliance / bathroom perspective, but we didn't spend that much time in the house. The walls were a little dinged up, but the bathroom, kitchen and beds were clean. Overall would recommend it
