「The service was wonderful. The staff helped arrange things like taxis and a horse ride and made sure I got breakfast before an early morning tour (excellent scones!). They were especially accommodating on my last day when I was taking a late train, allowing me to shower and have a place to hang out for a little while in the late afternoon. 「The hotel is being “refreshed”; there are missing latches on windows and odd plumbing, some tired carpets, weird (to my tastes) metal animals arranged around the property. However, the room was clean and functional, the restaurant food was very good for dinner and breakfast.」
