Ryokans in Hanover

"Had a clear "partial beach view" although our room was above the smoking area which was a bummer because who wants to smell cigarettes all day. Check in was not smooth either and my fiancee and I had to wait TWO hours past check-in time for our room to be ready. Being that we didn't get into our room until 5pm when we attempted to book dinners for our stay the restaurants we wanted to check out were all booked. Ridiculous. While we waited for our rooms we wanted to check out the amenities and the gym in the picture on Expedia DEFINITELY does NOT mirror real-life. It was not bad I'm actuality but the picture was definitely not what was offered. Extreme false advertisement. The food in the main buffet, Ackee was decent although my fiance found multiple foreign hairs in her pasta from the pasta bar. Decent selection of foods though but for a long stay we were worn out by the third day. We did get into Bamboo House (no reservations required) on the 3rd day for dinner and it was so-so. It was ALSO a buffet so it wasnt like ordering whole seated. The grilled salmon bites they had were fantastic, everything else we could have done without. I've stayed at a could different RIU properties over the years and they have all had room service. Not quite sure why they don't here at an adults-only, all-inclusive resort but they definitely didn't and that was a huge bummer. I used to live ordering late night cheeseburgers but whatever I suppose."

"We spent 4 nights here recently at the Grand on the family side. The staff wère amazing! the food was quite good. The favorite was the food truck (curry chicken patties were the fan fave) and the Jamrock Restaurant but the buffet pretty good too. The hotel has a ton going on and entertainment was not short. Our kids had a ball spending hours swimming and using the waterslides daily we loved the nightly shows, the entertainment was high in quality! Overall it was a wonderful time with the family. Now there were a few inconsistencies we noticed: Our mini bar was not restocked two nights in a row, the snacks were restocked once. We had booked two rooms and asked a few times for them to be at least close together if not side by side and while they did say they would try to accommodate us the followimg day, it fell through and the other room ended up on another floor and quite a distance away. This part made no sense to me. Especially since we asked specifically to be close together. While disappointing we worked with it and still had a good time. The beach was rocky, consistent with most of the reviews but the views were stunning from every single angle. We would certainly go back. "

"I travel often but, this was my first time booking at an all inclusive adult only resort, unfortunately, the Riu Montego Bay is overrated! If offered room 30 RUN by all means! The room is located directly over the 24 hr sports bar so sleeping is impossible, the view is obstructed, and to top it off the room has ROACHES! When we complained they sent up housekeeping with a can of insect spray and of course on the last day we saw more ROACHES so, now we have to FUMIGATE our luggage before going home. So for CLEANLINESS ZERO STARS! Then we were locked out of our room for an hour sitting on the floor due to the door pad disengaging because the battery died, and there was only 1 technician for the entire property. However, the entertainment & activities were very fun and engaging! Staff were very accommodating, helpful, and informative! Leo, Demario Rolly Polly and many others were wonderful. This resort left a bad taste in my mouth, There was very little regard for our complaint, and without a room change due to spring break, I absolutely will not book again. "
