“The rooms were clean and the AC was good. The food was absolutely amazing.”

“Beautiful resort! But… it needs much improvement. If your (African American) this property will not cater to you at all. I had to call on many different occasions to clean the room or ask for towels. Some staff were semi aggressive from asking basic things. Having traveled to other countries, we’d expect vacation service, not al la carte service as everyone expected a tip for basic things. Don’t think I would take my family here again. It’s also very far from the airport. ”

While you would expect the front desk to be more welcoming, the rest of the staff, including the bartenders, entertainment team, and restaurant staff, were amazing, friendly, and really made the experience enjoyable. We were able to walk around the ground by our room was being prepared. And very helpful. “Staff freindly and accomadating”

“I’ve stayed at a RIU in Montego Bay before, so I knew paying more usually means a nicer, more “luxury” experience. That wasn’t really the case here. Palace Tropical Bay didn’t feel like an upgrade, and honestly we could’ve just stayed at Riu Negril and been just as happy, if not happier. When we went there for the White Party, it looked just as nice. The swim-up bar pool was also an issue—the filter seemed off because there was always debris floating around, which wasn’t great. “Everything was perfect up until the day of my wedding. My wedding was off the resort. The morning of my wedding they would not allow my makeup artist or photographers on. The day before I verified with them if it was OK and they said yes I need to pay for a day pass. The morning of they said no day passes available and that I have to pay a vendor fee of $800 per person. After all the back-and-forth the front desk, then told us that nobody was allowed to come on the resort because they are at……

“The view was beautiful to the sea, property was filthy, we told we weren’t allowed coffee until after the all inclusive guests ate first, there was only 2 bath towels, we had to ask for towels, face cloths, and beach towels, it took two days to receive. It is a huge slip and trip hazard when it rains, as the “flooring is smooth broken tile”, and uneven ground. No hand rails for any of the stairs or ramps, inclines. The bar staff was not personable. “Overall, a great hotel rooms are very small. Staff was a bit cranky understandable considering what they went through with the hurricane food was better than average not great. The beach is one of the best I’ve ever been on.”
