“Beautiful resort! But… it needs much improvement. If your (African American) this property will not cater to you at all. I had to call on many different occasions to clean the room or ask for towels. Some staff were semi aggressive from asking basic things. Having traveled to other countries, we’d expect vacation service, not al la carte service as everyone expected a tip for basic things. Don’t think I would take my family here again. It’s also very far from the airport. ”

“Everything was perfect up until the day of my wedding. My wedding was off the resort. The morning of my wedding they would not allow my makeup artist or photographers on. The day before I verified with them if it was OK and they said yes I need to pay for a day pass. The morning of they said no day passes available and that I have to pay a vendor fee of $800 per person. After all the back-and-forth the front desk, then told us that nobody was allowed to come on the resort because they are at……

“We did not appreciate the constant loud music outside our room during the day. Even going to tho edge of property did not give us any peaceful quiet afternoons on the beach. Guess this is just not our type of resort. Sorry”

“Finding the location from the montego bay airport was not difficult. The reception was wonderfully warm. Dinner is available but you have to notify Andrea (owner)before hand. The cook was very hospitable. We will definitely return to this establishment and recommend it to our friends and family.”

We had a cabana room where the cabana had not been cleaned so we couldn’t use it. “This was a great stay for my friends and I. It is a quaint black owned family business. The staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to cater to all of our needs. The breakfast we ordered and ate was absolutely scrumptious. The Wi-Fi was not the greatest at times but, we understood that due to the storm some parts of the island has no Wi-Fi or electricity. That being said, having a lack of Wi-Fi gave us an opportunity to have actual conversations with other guest and a chance to rejuvenate……

“I’ve stayed at a RIU in Montego Bay before, so I knew paying more usually means a nicer, more “luxury” experience. That wasn’t really the case here. Palace Tropical Bay didn’t feel like an upgrade, and honestly we could’ve just stayed at Riu Negril and been just as happy, if not happier. When we went there for the White Party, it looked just as nice. The swim-up bar pool was also an issue—the filter seemed off because there was always debris floating around, which wasn’t great. “A lovely boutique hotel in a very safe area, conveniently located near a grocery store with several restaurants just a short walk down the strip. The hotel itself is beautiful, featuring a gorgeous beach area, a nice pool, and a great bar. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re hoping for an ocean view, be sure to book a room on the second floor, as the bushes can block the view from first-floor rooms. The staff was definitely welcoming and I love that they played Caribbean music vs American 80s……
