“Very clean room well serviced. Extremely comfortable bed and well heated rooms in December. We had a suite which was ideal for our short stay.. We were less happy with the many stairs, to get there although to be fair it was mentioned clearly in guest information. The old building is a real Greenock icon, but suffered from a leaking roof resulting in drips albeit during a storm with torrential rain. Had a nice meal in the restaurant on the first evening. Very happy to returnnnext year though.”

“We had a lovely night's stay at the Sugar Boat in their family room. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was fabulous! We'd definitely recommend to anyone, and will return next time we're in Helensburgh - thank you! ”

“The hotel is located in front of the sea, the view is good, it is 10 mins drive to Helensburg downtown.”

“Caravan is lovely and comfortable, though can be noisy in stormy weather, though otherwise it's a quiet location. Drive is quite steep for parking. Fantastic views over Loch Long. Access drive is a single road, is quite steep in places and it can be tricky to find the caravan.”

“Room was clean but very small. Bed must only be a small double so that should be better advertised. Noise levels were unacceptable, it's clear that the hotel has no soundproofing. Barely had 3 hours sleep. You could hear toilets flushing, sockets being put into plugs, full conversations and bedtime activities id rather not name. Carpark is pitch black which could be dangerous. Wont be back and will definitely not recommend to anyone. ”

“Stayed overnight and had prepaid for breakfast. Went down when breakfast opened but there were many students staying and had formed a queue around the dining room. We didn't have time to wait as had to catch a particular ferry. Told receptionist when we checked out and was told "they paid too". Not impressed at customer service.”
