“When I first got into the room and opened the shower door, there was a horrible smell - think it was the drains. Luckily it dissipated before I went to bed and never came back - stayed for 2 nights. Location fabulous overlooking the beach and went to sleep with the sound of the waves ( very hot - window wide open ). Breakfast very good with a very lovely view. Staff friendly and helpful without being 'in your face'. Great location with Donkey Sanctuary, Wildheart Animal Sanctuary,……

“This was a lovely guesthouse, located very close (400m or so) from the cliff lift, and it was a short stroll to the old village. We were met upon our arrival by Jackie. She was very welcoming and helpful, she was amazing. The room was lovely, ours was newly decorated with a beach theme and consisted of a double room, leading onto a room with a double bed and further onto a bathroom with shower. The continental component of the breakfast had a great variety, and there was an amazing cooked……

“The bed was not very good, had difficulty sleeping, breakfast on the first day was awful, tastless, was down earlier on subsequent days, breakfast was better, didnt have sausages as not cooked enough for my liking”

“Hotel is clean and functional with all the basics needed for a stay on isle of wight. Parking is an advantage and locality just 5 minutes to shops & Beach. Our family of 4 loved the breakfast and hospitality, host was knowledgeable & willing to answer questions. Room needs some Tlc & updating, but I still prefer these hotels to big chains. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as long your expectations are not of 5 star experience. its basic and offers an affordable option for the Area.”

“The Woodvale is a pub with rooms. Our room was pleasant and was reasonably spacious. Bathroom had a shower and was very clean, although a little old. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub which served decent food. Overall we enjoyed our stay. ”
