"If you’re looking for luxury and cleanliness, I would not recommend staying here. The property is extremely outdated and poorly maintained. Check-in time was 4 PM, but our room was not ready. When we were finally given keys, the room was still dirty from the previous guest. We were then transferred to the Essex at Clevelander, but when we arrived there, that room had also not been cleaned by housekeeping. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes before we could check in. The toilet barely works and takes several flushes to fully clear. There is also almost no storage space for clothes; only one very small drawer. The elevator made loud, strange noises and every time it stopped, it felt like the entire thing shook before the doors opened. The day before we left, we left the room around 11:30 AM and returned at 5 PM, and it still had not been cleaned. We left again to give housekeeping more time, but when we came back an hour later, the room still had not been serviced. Very disappointing experience overall. I would not stay here again."

"The stay was pleasant the only complaint on my end were the ladies at the front desk. They were pretty rude to certain people but for the most part everything else was ok and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly "

"We stayed here 2 nights before our cruise. Great location, the hallways are a bit outdated but the rooms are a different world - all updated. Our room was great, nice and clean. Another couple we travelled with had issues with their AC but the staff gave them another room. Ours worked perfectly fine. Unfortunately the elevator wasn’t working while we were there but we survived! There’s multiple different buildings with rooms which I didn’t know when we booked, we went around to a few looking for the lobby lol. The lobby is in the first building you see! Happy hour was great and so was the pool, we chilled there when we weren’t out around south beach. "
