“We stayed in off season. When we arrived at 4 pm, nobody was there. Another guest let us know the keys were just behind a flower box. Got in, lovely room, clean, with plenty of amenities. Good water pressure. My only wish would be that they provide wash cloths, as well as towel racks or some form of hanging and drying our towels. There not a single hook or rack in the entire room. A simple fix, but certainly worth it. I didn’t have much hope for the breakfast, not sure why, but it was……

“The bed and breakfast experience lived up to its billing with prompt and excellent service from Michelle whenever requested. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of choices and the rooms were kept tidy with the suite providing the opportunity to relax in private. ”

“This historic hotel has loads of character and is a marvellous central location. I would suggest that it needs some decorative TLC but my room was large and with 2 huge floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the main street. Room and ensuite were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I met some of the hospitality staff and they were welcoming and cheerful. I would definitely return.”

“Lovely staff, a radiator sprung a leak in the bathroom which was temporarily sorted, and imediately repaired the following day. Quality full English breakfasts and exceptional evening meals. I highly recommend The White Swan in Lowick.”

“Lovely, clean room (Muckle). Very friendly and helpful staff. Just a few little niggles, such as the tv remote had no cover over the batteries and didn’t work properly as a result. No coffee machine or mini fridge, both pretty standard these days, even in much less expensive rooms. The decor, both room and hotel generally, is really nicely done, and overall, we had a lovely stay. No better recommendation than to say we would definitely stay there again. ”
