「Everything was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. Excellent stay overall. My only suggestion would be to add a handheld shower head in addition to the overhead rain shower. It would make the shower more practical, especially for guests who do not want to wash their hair every time. Other than that, everything was great.」

「This is a very unique place to stay, the hosts are incredibly kind and friendly, they picked us up from the train station gave us a quick tour and gave us some very helpful advice. It’s a way from the crowds of Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio, just a short distance to Varenna by train. It’s very tranquil clean and comfortable. It’s a beautiful area for a walk down to the beach, take the path straight to the centre of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would love to go back someday...

「Based on the reviews, I was expecting more. I think ‘hotel’ is a bit of a stretch. There’s no permanent reception, just rooms. It’s well located, it was clean and the shower was hot. However, the furniture is incredibly basic, the bedding is cheap, and even with the curtains drawn its light and there is a lot of street noise - they do provide earplugs. If I was feeling ungenerous, I would say it has a private hostel feel. Perhaps I misunderstood the listing and previous reviews - luckily we were...
