DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown

DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown

10/10 Excellent
"Check in-out was a breeze, the room was well kept and clean. I didn't use the fridge so I can't speak about it's functionality. Glad it is there if needed. Wi-Fi was a little spotty but it was also a rainy day. It took a little time getting the signal and volume in sync but once it was up I was able to enjoy the US Open as scheduled. Thank you!!"

"The staff is very professional and friendly. The room was cleaned very thoroughly every day with replenished water. The room had a very small so be prepared. There are only two elevators and the wait can be very long at times. Location in lower manhattan is very accessible to the subway and lots to do nearby. The room was very quiet as well."

"Roof top bar was awesome minus being treated like solo travelers get the corner seat. Myself and another women eating alone were put at tables to the side and not served for 20-30 minutes until mentioned. Roof top has larger lounge style tables so they kept them open for larger groups. Totally fine but attending to groups not so large is still appropriate. Room was unique but very small. No place to even open up a suitcase. Hotel is near main roads and I heard cars honking all night and rooftop bar noise until 11. Lovely boutique style hotel, I’d stay again but not on business or as a solo traveler"

"Apparently this was once used as housing for sailors, and was used to house survivors from the Titanic! Which might explain the extremely tight quarters-o8r little room measured 6ft by 5ft!! Very tight quarters, bundled, bathroom and showers down the hall. Bit of a challenge for us as older adults, but the location was great for exploring and only a 10 minute walk fromCity Winery, where we saw 2 excellent Justin Hayward shows! Be prepared to walk or take taxi to get to food. So many choices! Everything we ate was great. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"Location is excellent! You can walk to soho and catch the subway to any part of the city. The hotel itself is perfect. Bar and food downstairs as well as a cafe, The hotel gives you $20 a day towards either one! The rooms are clean, cute and typical NYC small. Highly recommend any MOXY anywhere! And they are a Marriott hotel - you get the Bonvoy points! No fridge in the room but we didn’t need one."

"Room small but adequate. Seemed recently decorated. Bathroom small, but very adequate, very European feeling. Only problem was almost no storage. Closet very small, but worse was absolutely no other storage: no wall hooks, no shelves, no place but small floor area to put suitcases. Possibly adequate if very little luggage. Staff very nice and helpful. HVAC fine. Good black- out shades. Included breakfast just OK. Afternoon included wine and cheese on top floor good. Downtown location excellent and within 2 blocks of 4 different subway lines. Price of room more than satisfactory for NYC ( room prices at Doubletree directly across street more than double). Overall would have been exceptional value, if only some additional storage options."
