Reading Mill at Sonning Hotels

"Very good overall. . Like a lot of hotels, the food is good but overpriced. The location and view of the river from some rooms is fabulous. Staff are friendly and try their best for you. Unfortunately I booked last minute in order to get a peaceful night’s sleep and the fire alarm woke the whole hotel at 3am. Great that it worked, but there was no fire! Water had leaked into the sensors somehow (the weather was windy and wet that night) so after we all trooped out of our rooms in pyjamas and overcoats, we were told that there was no need to panic. Couldn’t be helped but very frustrating! Overall it’s worth the fee I paid via Expedia as I’ve stayed a few times now and would definitely recommend it. Make sure you find the best deal possible! "

"IT WAS A GOOD STAY , STAFF FRIENDLY, FUN GAMES , DECENT GYM ALSO... THE HOTEL HAS ONLY THE ONE PINBALL MACHINE, I THINK IT WAS MY MISTAKE BUT THOUGHT IT HAD MORE & INCLUDED THE GUEST ROOMS - BUT SADLY NOT 😥 BUT , I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN ! ALSO , YOU CAN DRINK IN THE BAR AFTER 11 PM ... NICE "

"What a delightful stay in this ancient inn. All the staff we encountered were friendly & helpful and seemed genuinely pleased to look after us. Our bedroom was bijou but very well thought out with switches in the right place and plenty of sockets. A free welcome drink at bar was greatly appreciated. Dinner was tasty and breakfast was great, freshly cooked to order. We would most definitely stay here again, although I imagine it might be quite noisy on a summer’s evening."

And for this reason, I would not be returning, so lucky to get a small car parking space; otherwise, it would have meant parking off-site, which I would not have liked at all.
