“Quirky accommodation..food and facilities great but the hot tub was too cold to use so we were disappointed we couldn't use it as was the main reason I booked the shepherds hut..otherwise would book again”

“You have to walk on the road to get to reception from the car park as there was a sign saying staff only from the covered area to the bar . check in is at the bar ,no dedicated reception . The room we were allocated was not the room booked on the web site but it was only one night so not worth bothering about ,however the bathroom door needs attention as my wife was unable to close it until I told her how to do it ( I am a joiner and the hinges need the screws tightened up but this Will be……

“A lovely light and airy room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed and plenty of clean towels. Staff were most welcoming and very helpful. Wonderful selection of goodies for breakfast. Fresh fruit every morning alongside a cooked breakfast and timings for breakfast most accommodating.”

“The hotel was lovely. We were greeted cheerfully and told the breakfast times and reminded not to forget our room key when going out as the room door once shut can only be opened with a key. Our room was very spacious, a really comfortable bed and a nice sized bathroom. There were also sufficient coat hangers in the wardrobe. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided in the room. Breakfast provided a good choice of hot and cold food and the staff were lovely. The reception is manned from 8am……

“Lovely full English breakfast plus cereals, toast, fruit and yogurts if you want. The food was good quality and tasty both at breakfast and our meal in the bar the previous evening. The room was clean, the shower was hot and quite powerful, the beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking too. Would definitely look to stay here again if in the area”

“Look, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible by any means. It's just that for a hotel that's trying to play at this level, it struggles with some of the basics. If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. Yes, there was a (small) sign in reception saying this, but it's the kind of thing it would be good for the receptionist to……
