“Room was adorable and comfortable with terrific views. Could see sunrise from the bed. Housekeeping could use a little work. Jet tub was a little dirty and glasses in cupboards were dirty. Understandable outside windows would be dirty but inside windows could use a little TLC. Linen left on balcony in front of room. Coffee available all day was great, very friendly staff. Restaurant noise was a little loud but when they were closed it was very peaceful. Close to restaurants and shops. Overall……

“This is an old house, and certain features could be deemed charming. The beds were comfortable, and we appreciated some of the amenities. However, it seemed worn and bare-bones in some aspects. For example, the AC in one of the bedrooms was a stand-alone unit that was jerry-rigged to vent out the window, and the other bedroom had no AC. The screen door was broken. There were hardly any utensils and no bowls. The hairdryer “high” setting was broken and could only be used on “low”. For only a……

“Centrally located in the Old Port, with views of the harbor, this was a last minute — therefore pricey — excellent find for a fall weekend getaway. Stylish, elegant rehab of 19th century granite industrial building. Whimsical decor notes referring to 19th century owner Evalina Fox. Nicely appointed kitchenette — though if you came to Portland for the foodie scene, you might end up just using it for breakfast, as we did. Only sour note was the disco music (coming in via the ventilation……
