“Pros: Beautiful property. I love the concept of converting a historic hospital into a hotel. Very clean and comfy rooms. The staff is very helpful, and packed breakfast for us on our early departure day. Love, love, love the beautiful pool in the courtyard. Very clean/clear water in the ~20 meter pool. I was able to do some lap swims in a refreshing pool, it's not heated, just the way I like it. Cons: Breakfast can improve a bit, not a lot of variety. The egg/ pancake station is nice but slow……

“Wonderful location on the Ponta Delgada waterfront, with a small balcony. Our room was immaculate and spacious. Bathroom was very good. The parking situation has some problems. There is parking in a garage under the hotel for a reasonable fee, but only the upper level is connected by elevator to the hotel. The lower level has a separate entrance and difficult foot access. Parking spaces on both levels are too narrow.”

Unfortunately our stay was short and we did not have the opportunity to use the pool or spa amenities.”

“This hotel is fantastic, but I would suggest having a rental car if you stay here. It's ideal for getting to a lot of places on the island but staying very convenient to Ponta Delgada and the many restaurants there in the evening. We went out on excursions every day, and many tour operators picked us up directly at the hotel. We were on the island for eight days, so it was wonderful to have a big enough space to fit my family of five. They brought breakfast every day with fresh fruit and local……

“Beautiful building in great nestled location, within 10 minute walk to water. Onsite bar & restaurant was delicious & spacious. Staff didn’t really love the Americans, but great food/bev. Pool area outside was gorgeous & front desk staff was always so helpful. They have a huge spa on site too. And most rooms had balconies, which was great to sit outside & overlook pool/view. Glad we stayed here :)”
