「All Staff were incredibly lovely and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel in general was lovely and in a great location. The cleaning staff could pay a little more attention when cleaning the rooms but other than that, it was a great stay! Reception staff were wonderful!」

Check in was available early and checkout we were able to store our luggage and use all the facilities until we were ready to leave funchal. Breakfast buffet is incredible with plenty of variety and volume. No nuisance birds due to on-site falconry. Would recommend, and return. Stayed with adult friends.」

「Centrally located in town. Tons of restaurants and bars to pick from. Great hotel overall. Only disadvantage is parking is either on street or in a parking garage requiring you to bring your luggage too and from where you park.」

「A fantastic location, excellent pool, wonderful breakfast buffet. We loved it there. It's about 15 minutes walk to the town centre and whale watching boats etc. Perfect. My only criticisms - which do not reduce the star rating - 1) that the pillows were a bit flat and lumpy and could do with being replaced. And 2) the names of the two sister hotels: Hotel Quinta de Penha da Franca and Hotel Penha de Franca Mar lead to repeated confusion with taxi drivers and excursion pickups etc - maybe...
