A taste of village life close to amazing ocean pools.

Quinta Rico provides a charming and comfortable island experience, modern convenience with a farmhouse feel, down to country decor and handmade quilts. Hugo greeted us graciously on arrival, with farm eggs and bread and milk in the fridge. The house is on the "main" road that runs around the island but in a very quiet village within a few minutes walk to beautiful ocean pools for swimming, with a small local market for basics. The only sound besides the occasional passing traffic is roosters crowing, birds singing and the village dogs. A spacious kitchen and table made for memorable meal times. It is a beautiful half hour drive across the island into Angra, and feels like a retreat to return to the quiet pace of the village with views of the sun setting over the ocean after a day out sightseeing. A very relaxing vacation. Thank you for sharing a piece of Azorean paradise!

Great overall experience

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy , we were welcomed with a basket of goodies. The location of the property was awesome. The property was very big which made it nice for the kids to run around and burn energy. The swings were a hit for our kids as well. The pool was nice, the hot tub wasn’t very hot, it would have been nice to have some sort of control to heat it up some. The sauna was awesome and easy to operate. It was a little uncomfortable sharing the outside property with other guests but we made it work. The parking on the property was nice. The inside of the house was spacious, it made me a little nervous that there was a lot of decorations around, with kids, but the owners let us know if we needed to move any breakable items we were welcome to. A few cons for the inside- the upstairs got very warm, although there are 2 ac units down stairs (which keeps the downstairs cool) the upstairs got stuffy. We did open the windows but they didn’t have screens so we didn’t leave them open for too long. The beds were very firm. It was great having a washer and dryer however it was a little difficult to operate, a usual manual (in multiple languages would be nice. We didn’t realize you have to empty the water on the dryer so we kept wondering why our clothes were not drying. Overall we were very happy and would stay here again!

Toller Aufenthalt!

Wir waren nicht die einfachsten Gäste doch Hugo Rico und seine Eltern haben sich bestens um uns gekümmert. Wir wurden mit einem liebevollen Korb mit lokalen Spezialitäten begrüßt und wenn es Probleme gab waren die Gastgeber sofort zur Stelle. Das Haus ist wirklich schön und gepflegt. Leider stellenweise nicht ganz sauber aber damit kommt man klar. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt!

Great location!

We rented this as a staycation on island with a few friends and it was perfect. We had a relaxing time, and enjoyed the pool, the fireplace, and the outdoor grill. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the sunsets were 10/10.

tres bon accueil .maison tres confortable chargée d'histoires

Nous avons été très très bien accueillis.nous avions des œufs frais de la basse cours voisines .La maison est très agréables,spacieuse et bien conçue.Nous avons pu faire un séjour formidable dans une ile extraordinaire et encore méconnu . Un peuple authentique et simple connaissant le sens du partage et de l'accueil . La convivialité et l'espace de cette maison chargées d'une histoire familiale (maison ayant appartenue à la grand mère, et la déco en conséquence). Verger autour de la maison avec des pommes délicieuses. Barbecue pret a l'emploi avec du bon bois sec faisant de belles braises pour les grillades de viandes ou de poissons

Beleza da Terceira

Muito recomendado em particular para grupos que pretendam sociabilizar. Óptima localização, junto às melhores piscinas naturais da ilha( biscoitos) Acolhedora, muito limpa, muito espaçosa, bem decorada, tem contacto com animais e natureza. Grelhador exterior e parqueamento. Bom preço e boa recepção. Alojamento de alta qualidade.

Farm Living

My wife and I spent three nights in this farmhouse during July 2016. Overall, it was fun and very different than we are used to. There are chickens, turkeys, hens, roosters, ducks, etc. outside. The owner, Hugo visits each day at dusk to feed them and take care of them and makes sure that everything is well. He leaves a cellphone in the residence so that you can call him if there is a problem. Now, about the place. This is a LARGE house. We found it alittle musty but limited ourselves to a small section of the house so that we could stay organized and utilize the one A/C Unit located in the kitchen that seemed to cool that area of the house adequately. The home comes with an electrically operated gate to the driveway which allowed easy access to the car when coming and going. As far as the location of the house, we found it to provide us with an authentic sense of Azorean culture. There is a cattle farm across the street and we could watch the daily work go on from the front terrace in the morning and late afternoon. There is a convenience store within a 5 minute walk from the home. We were able to find a very inviting local restaurant, " O'Pedro's" only a 5 minute drive away and we ate there every night. We also found ourselves taking advantage of the Natural Pools of Quatro Riberias that were also only a 5 minute drive away. The house is centrally located on the North coast and easy to find. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay here and would recommend it to others. We also found the rental price to be very affordable. We are giving this five stars based on the idea that we feel we got what we paid for if not more, and certainly will never forget the fun of living in this unique farm house for a few days.

Schönes Haus, schöne Lage, freundlicher Vermieter

Wir würden jederzeit wieder dieses Haus mieten (sehr schöne Lage, schönes großes Haus, nahegelegenes tolles Naturbad mit Pool, guter Ausgangspunkt für weitere Erkundungen der Insel, sehr freundlicher Vermieter).

Great stay

We felt very welcome when we arrived at the house: it was clean and there was a basket with cheese, jam and bread etc. The house is great and the owners were polite and very friendly, solving any problem there was (broken lamp). We got eggs from the chickens in the backyard. We enjoyed our stay for five days very much in a beatiful Terceira, with its own habits. We especially liked the Imperios and the natural swimmingpools nearby.

Not what we expected

The bathroom next to the laundry area smelled like a cesspool. We had to keep the door shut, because the whole house would reek of feces. There were ants and centipedes everywhere. We were under the impression that we would have fresh eggs, but the landlord told us we could only have eggs the first day. She also 'popped' in to tell us not to drink too much?! We had a bottle of wine on the table from the wine museum! Wouldn't rent from them again.

A descrição do anuncio corresponde à localização, a casa é grande, com boas condições para umas boas férias. Estava tudo limpo, roupas de camas e toalhas de banho em bom estado e limpo. A existência de tudo necessário para a cozinha, casa de banho e outros objectos de decoração da casa lindos. Recomendaria com toda a certeza a um amigo.
