「Hotel Matthiol is located in a quiet area which takes around 15 mintues by the hotel shuttle bus. We have the fondue for dinner inside an outdoor transparent tent which is very special and romantic. The service of the staff is excellent. It takes around 10 mins walk from the hotel to the downtown and cable car to the Matterhorn. The view from the balcony of our room is just fine since it’s not facing to the Matterhorn. The only required improvement is the water leakage problem of the shower...

「This family run business keeps the rooms spotless. All common areas are clean. Breakfast is average (we dont expect gourmet breakfast in Zermatt anyway). Ski room for equipment and boot warmers. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. The owner is super nice and helpful. The hotel is 7 minutes walk from the lift on a hill - ok to walk with snowboards and skis. Redline (free electric) bus stops very close to the hotel.」

「We had the perfect 2-night stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was outstanding and staff kept the breakfast buffet spread constantly topped up with a large variety of food. It was a delightful surprise when we were upgraded to a room with the Matterhorn view. The only regret was that our stay was too short to try out the pool facility. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at Zermatt city centre near the train station.」
