Beautiful house on the Menominee River

Our family held our reunion here in 2013. We loved it so much, we decided to stay again in 2025. The pond, and having the canoe for a trip down the river, were definite highlights. We saw turkeys, geese, a fox, and a doe with her fawn roaming the grounds on the property. It was a delightful stay.

Perfect large group getaway!

Great property for a large group of couples or families with children. Huge for all bedrooms but 1 to have a connected bathroom. Gathering spaces inside and out were perfect and you can't beat the location if you are looking to getaway. Thanks!

Perfect Family Vacation

This was a great spot for our family vacation! The house was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, and everyone loved having their own bathrooms. There was enough seating for all of us to share a table for dinner, and we loved having happy hour at the beautiful bar in the living room! The pond was a hit! We brought our own floaties (even though there were some there!) and enjoyed floating in the warm clean water every day! We’d definitely stay again!

Absolute Perfection

This place was even better than we had imagined. It had everything we needed for an incredible long weekend - the beds were comfy, the kitchen was fully stocked, and there were so many wonderful touches that went above and beyond. And when we weren't able to figure out how to work the fireplace, someone was there to help us within an hour. We highly recommend!

Comfort in Nature

Remote setting on Menominee River provided a quiet and peaceful vacation for 3 generations of family. Short drives (30 minutes or so) provided excursions to nearby towns for touring and food. The property was very accommodating for several families with members of all ages—15 months to upper 60s. Well-appointed with furnishings, kitchen appliances and cooking utensils, recreational options, house-wide wi-fi and more. Great getaway place from hot lower Midwest weather in July!

perfect extended family vacation

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the river with extended family. The house and property were top notch—clean, spacious, plenty of room for fourteen of us. We loved morning coffee on the patio, canoeing and fishing in the river, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, playing pool and ping pong, roasting marshmallows fireside, stargazing. The location was secluded and quiet for hanging out but was a good home base for day trips to Painted Rock National Lakeshore, the Iron Mine, or whitewater rafting. Memorable trip! The property is a winner. Thanks for the hospitality.

AMAZING PROPERTY

We had a fairly large (18 people) family/friends trip to this house. I have to admit I was worried staying under one roof with all these people, but this house did not disappoint. There is enough room and plenty of areas outside to have time away and relax. There was also enough seating that we can enjoy meals together. The open concept made this extra large home very warm and inviting. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need and even more. There are beautiful views from every area and bedroom. EVERYONE had a great time. There's enough shoreline to accommodate anyone or everyone who wants to fish. The fishing was also great by the way! Would definitely come back!

2023 family reunion

Amazing home, CL, kitchen was super stocked with appliances, spices, dishes, etc more than enough for our troop of 16. We enjoyed fishing in the banks of the river, kayaking, and swimming. The kids loved hunting for frogs, watching the deer, riding bikes on the long driveway. The fire pit was used every night, star gazing, and smores. The garage provided a safe place for toddlers to be part of the outdoor fun. Highly recommend this home for a group. Coffee in the morning on the deck watching the river will be my favor ite memory.

Cool River Cabin for Family Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family enjoyed this trip. House is nice with many hang out areas and beautiful views of the river. First night was only time we would have liked to have A/C(did not believe $250 fee was justified for few nights). Some of the outdoor furniture could be in better shape(picnic tables, gas grill) from weathering. Otherwise fire pit was great and we saw lots of stars after finding out how to turn off the outside lights.

Relaxing getaway

The house was beautiful and located on a serene river. Tons of space and huge kitchen! We were all very comfortable in the home and bedrooms are spacious! Use of boats a plus too! Downside was we were told the swimming pond would be safe to swim in. Property keeper said there was too much algae and advised against it. Although he nicely put on filters. WiFi in the area was not very good and it would have been nice to be given maps as gps stops working nearby. Property mgmt company did not respond to our questions the last 2 days. Still loved the house and had the best time!

Vacation Home Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the home worked well for our 15 person family gathering. Beautiful location on the river. Nice to just sit with family and watch the river. Inside space worked well for meals and relaxing. The deck needs attention - several weak boards that need replacing before they break and a few chairs were without cushions. The recreational games did not work....pool sticks had no ends, shuffle board has wrong wax so pucks slide off the end with the slightest push, ping pong balls were cheap Walmart specials that were not round so did not bounce right. For a few hundred dollars these things could be fixed.

Multi generational family trip

House was beautiful and inside was very well kept up. Expansive kitchen with every appliance you would need - even a bread making machine. First house we stayed in that had adequate seating for all of our group. Loved the pond which we used daily. 2 kayaks,1 canoe and paddle boat with many life jackets were provided. Comfortable beds and loft game room. Garage was used for games. There was a large container with balls and toys. We would consider renting again. Would have given 5 stars for the property but outside was in need of some care. For example weeding, especially between the stone walk ways. Deck had some boards that were in need of repair. We went rafting at Kosir's Rafting in Silver Cliff, WI which was great. Town of Stephenson had music on 1 night which was enjoyable.

Old Friends Annual Get Away

The group lives across three states now and make a point to get together once a year to stay in touch. The River Ridge Lodge was a perfect place for us to relax and enjoy each other. Fantastic house

The most beautiful house in a private location surrounded by trees and water. Who could ask for more. The configuration of the house was perfect for our family with 10 adults and 2 kids. 8 bedrooms with 7 1/2 baths and 6 of those bedrooms with king beds. Absolutely amazing. And very well stocked. We had an awesome 5 days there. Thank you so much!!
