"Our stay at 3 bedroom cottage was enjoyable. The house was nicely decorated and very clean upon arrival, exceeding expectations. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies, and the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. The location was ideal, with close stores for groceries or food. You are able to see houghton lake from the location as it’s at the beginning of the canal. Fun to watch boats come in and out. Only negative is that you are unable to swim at the property. "My wife, sons, and I stayed here while visiting family in town. It was a great location in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, and close to the lake/state park, restaurants, ice cream shops, etc. We enjoyed sipping coffee on the the three seasons room in the morning, and the greenhouse room in the backyard in the evenings. This house has all the amenities you could ask for, and the owner was very responsive to any questions that came up during our stay. I highly recommend this cottage!"

"For the most part it was ok, the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, was in need of a very deep cleaning. The shower was so bad my wife wouldn’t even shower in it. The kitchen sink hot and cold water lines are hooked up incorrectly. Bring water with you when traveling if you visit the water has an odor and is not drinkable. "

"The host gave us an extremely informative PDF for the property and surrounding area. The location was great as you could walk to restaurants, bars and 1 cafe. The smores kits was a nice touch. The only thing that we struggled with was how to turn on the A/C, and one of the boat businesses is no longer in business. Otherwise, great place!"
