“This was an amazing trip to Hope Cove. Despite the weather not being completely in our favour, this was made up for by an incredible area and most of all incredible hotel with great service at an affordable price. We were also delighted with the breakfast that came complimentary with our stay. ”

“We received a warm welcome from Ryan at his 'Community' pub, Ring o'Bells, West Alvington on the outskirts of Kingsbridge. The bedrooms are beside the carpark; access to them is via an open sturdy metal stairway which may be a challenge in adverse weather. The beds with en-suite facilities were clean and well-presented; we all enjoyed a good night's sleep without any distractions. The highlight of the Ring o'Bells is the spectacular Devon countryside overlooking the outskirts of Kingsbridge……

“Did not see any staff all weekend, key left in front porch with a note on arrival. Place felt ambandoned and un safe, had it not been height of summer season would have looked for alternative on night of arrival. Advertised details incorrect no restaurant or food available after 5 hour drive had to go out to find food. Plates and cultery left in room with very noisy fridge next to bed, expected to wash up in basin in bathroom. Farm in the middle of nowhere so no where to get food. Down stairs……

“We stayed in Kingston because we wanted to „shortcut“´a long stage of the South Coast Path. We received a very friendly welcome, the hosts were great, and the Dolphin Inn Pub and the rooms have lots of athmosphere! We liked it a lot!”

“We had a wonderful visit and the location is superb. The house needed some fixing but none of the small issues really affected us but the sketchy internet was a problem. Hopefully they can improve that to make everything perfect. A truly lovely place.”

“The Inn was comfortable and there's a car park nearby. There's a pub at the ground floor and another one opposite the inn. A supermarket is about 100-200 feet away so it's quite convenient. You can reach southern Devon's costal attraction within an hour's (by car). A natural reserve is also very close.”

“Not really a city view, view of Main Street, and the beautiful hills and valley to the left. Hosts are super helpful and friendly, always stay there when we go to Modbury. Food is good, room is clean and comfortable. ”

Tim and Sheila were the ideal hosts; generous, kind and always ready to share their time and local knowledge to ensure we were able to get the best from our all too short stay. Everything provided, from the breakfast to the bedding was 1st class and added to the enjoyment of a very relaxing holiday. We hope to return soon.”

“The business is no longer a going concern, no staff, fire risks, lack of lighting in public areas, on-line advertising is totally misleading (outdated). One has to feel for the poor Landlord trying in vain to keep going.”

“Wonderful large lodge ideal for our family. Most relaxing time ever. The lodge had everything we needed, Beds were very comfortable with lovely soft linen and the site was remote and quiet but slightly out of season which suited us, can’t imagine getting too noisy though as good space and double glazed. Parking very good. Nice Soar Mill Cove hotel a short walk away for quality meals and spa facility. Soar mill cove is lovely for a private cool dip. We took advantage of Mike’s taxi to get us……
