“We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. We'll be back! ”

“The hotel was clean & in a good location. We went with bed & breakfast, the room was a good size & the breakfast was plentiful & tasty. The bar area was clean with plenty of seating & with a good choice of drinks. I left somethings behind in the room when I left the hotel & on realising this when I got home 4.5 hours later I rang to let them know and to see if I could get the things I left behind posted back to me. I spoke with Hannah who was extremely helpful and ensured my items were returned……

“What a fantastic place! Really close to the beach, indoor pool and other great (free) activities for the kids (table tennis, badminton, etc). Staff also very friendly, and food in the restaurant was really good.”

“Stephen was a wonderful host showing us our room on arrival and explaining arrangements there. Room 3 was extremely well appointed with our own entrance and outdoor space. The small kitchen area included a microwave great for a cosy meal in. The continental breakfast was amazing and really set you up for the day. Set in quiet countryside outside Bideford with easy access to local attractions and exploring the countryside. A really relaxing break for us and would definitely recommend staying……

“Looked ok in reception but that’s as good as it got , very out dated and not a great deal worked in the room . Very nearly boiled the kettle for a coffee in the morning before looking in it . Never seen anything like that before . When reeling off the stuff wrong with the room the staff were not bothered at all . Was charged £130 for the night and wouldn’t have paid £30 if I had a choice .”

“We’ve stayed here several times, never in room number 6. It was up in the attic so very tight on space and my husband kept banging his head on the eaves. Tv didn’t work and every time a door shut below us it shook the building and was really loud. We’d stay again but not in room 6”

“A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend. ”

“The setting of this BnB is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was perfect nothing fancy just exactly what you need, we specifically enjoyed the homemade rhubarb compote! The room was part of a converted barn and really cosy. The host was lovely. ”

“Conveniently located ,my room was clean and modern. Breakfast was good. My only gripe was that although it is common with hotel chains for breakfast to be extra, when staying in a Bed & Breakfast I expect Breakfast to be included in the price when booking and not as an extra. The sign above the door says Bed &Breakfast and that’s what I expect when I book.”
