“We were stuck in an annexe , room was shabby , kettle did not work , staff did not show us the room , just pointed the way , we booked for two nights , only stayed one , felt uncomfortable.”

“Food at the Inn arrived incorrectly, and tasteless. It was removed from the bill. When we entered our room the toilet seat almost fell off when moved. The heater in the room was broken. We used the hotel pool facility. The changing rooms were dirty. Dirty nappies in the swimsuit dryer. Sauna out of order. Broken drains on the jacuzzi. When the bubbles were on in the jacuzzi the water smelled stale and unclean. On reporting the cleanliness of the facilities after complaining previously about……

“We had a wonderful stay in this real southern Lake District gem of a cottage – thank you Jules (and Alistair)! It's even lovelier than the photos show! Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. “It was a nice experience there, my room was upgraded to a suite and it was great, views from the room was magical, room was clean and spacious , bathroom was clean and it had a jacuzzi, the spa session was beautiful and relaxing, pool was warm, breakfast was delicious and staffs were nice”

“Room was really comfortable but it is noisy until around 11pm when restaurant closes. Food was excellent. Absolutely worth a visit. Staff really friendly. ”

“Beautiful hotel and facilities. We loved our room - the bathroom was amazing! Heating and hot water broke on Friday so shower/bath was lukewarm and cold room. which spoiled our evening a little, unfortunately. Staff were lovely and resolved it ready for the next day/eve. Breakfast was wonderful on Sat/Sunday with great choice and quality. Surrounding area is beautiful and we made use of the chauffeur service to come back from our evening at the gorgeous (and highly recommended) Royal Oak……

“Beautiful location, lovely breakfasting room and public interiors. Very tasteful. Very good outside areas too even though the actual outside area was quite compact . It worked. The room was tastefully done and quiet, however the ensuite was rather small, beside the fields. Lots of wildlife. The only point I would make is that the dustbin lorry stopped then went right past my window at 6am. as did an early delivery. Luckily I was already awake . Breakfast was lovely. Everything was spotless and……

Delivery knocks on the doors of your neighbours has the same effects as knocking on your doors. If you want to sleep, book elsewhere. ”
