“The layout of the property was nice. The food, was ok, buffet could have used some different options day to day. The cook and serving staff were awesome. Unfortunately the only thing I found that I didn’t like was the bar staff. Long waits for drinks because they were “busy” with the younger girls and they never stirred drinks after making them. Also were very stingy on the pours, I am used to free pours at an all inclusive and these staff were using jiggers to pour an ounce. Overall, the resort……

“Everything!!! We were the only people staying there at the time and got to have the whole place to ourselves. It was a great birthday treat for myself and my partner. 10/10 would go back especially for the dogs: Canela, Chocolate, and Rocky”

“Beautiful property on a hill with infinity pool overseeing the ocean! All ocean view rooms, amazing breakfast each day and access to a great beach front club with gym, pool, beach. The club is however at a a different location than the main property and the hotel provides with hourly transport to and fro. The rooms are dated and bathrooma rather small and old. ”

“Great access to the beach via a board walk through the Mangroves. Surrounded by birds and so many cool animals, this is truly a gem of a stay. The room was great, and had comfortable beds, large bathroom, and AC. Highly recommend. The only struggle I had was getting assistance from the staff for arranging tours and activities even though their website mentions they can help. Highly recommend the Oropopo Experience guided Avellanas Wildlife Walk.”

“We absolutely loved our stay at Refugio Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere has such a great vibe—relaxed, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. The staff was amazing and truly made the experience special with their kindness and attention to detail. The food was incredible, and every meal exceeded our expectations. “Nice beach access, rooms are clean but nothing fancy. No food on site so breakfast is brought to your room via like fruit, some toast and yogurt so if you aren't a breakfast buffet person it is nice. Older small style but the location is amazing. I would stay again.”

“Room was cleaned everyday, however front doors to room only locked from inside. There were gaps in the doors that allowed mosquitos to get in. Let us check in early but we did ask for above ground level if possible and were put on the ground level. Overall close to everything. Could use some Reno’s. Loud area at night with the doors having gaps especially. ”

“This is a great boutique hotel for someone looking for a reclusive and quite stay. It is located in the mountains with gorgeous views. Fyi. The standard room only has one queen size bed. If you're traveling with friends, it is best to book separate rooms unless you want to share a bed. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We are so glad to have chosen LADE.”

“Very nice boutique hotel right on the beach. Quiet location located next to Tamarindo Diria. We had a drink there after dinner. Clean, very helpful staff at Perla. The pool use and breakfast at their sister resort is part of the booking. It was beautiful and the breakfast was excellent. Parking is also at the sister resort. Highly recommend Perla!”
