"What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical....

"We saw Mount Fuji early in the morning and it was breathtaking! Breakfast overlooking the forest behind the property was delicious and so beautiful. The onsen in our room was wonderful! Hotel staff were so welcoming and helpful! The shuttle bus from the station to the hotel made getting around Shuzenji accessible."

"My family of 3 stayed two nights at Hinodeya and it was a wonderful experience all around! This was our first visit to the Izu-Penninsula and we had such a great time. The owner and staff were so kind and accommodating, truly good spirits in this generational owned ryokan. The baths were very relaxing, the entire place was very clean and good spirits all around.
