Sotetsu Tomi hotels

"This hotel offers the best value for money of all the places I stayed during my trip to Japan. I had originally planned to stay for only three nights but ended up canceling my bookings in Niigata and extending my stay by two more nights because it was so comfortable. Nagano’s water quality is exceptional — the shower water is incredibly soft, and I could immediately notice the difference compared to Tokyo. The hotel’s breakfast quickly became the highlight of my day. I really needed more vegetables and fruits during my trip, but since Nagano’s restaurants tend to serve mostly carbohydrate-heavy dishes, this breakfast was a lifesaver. The staff here are also outstanding — they go out of their way to accommodate travelers. Guests can even rent bicycles from the hotel to explore the city. Its location is within walking distance of the train station, and for those heading to Hakuba or Togakushi, there are always shuttle buses available from the station."

"The rooms were very affordable and the location was a walkable distance from the station which is great. It is close very close to many restaurants and other shopping locations which is also nice. The beds and rooms were clean but small, which during our stay wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was serviceable for our one night stay but I wouldn't recommend it for any longer if you're not strapped for time. This place was quite budget friendly and convenient for those looking for a good value at a low price. "

"The breakfast buffet was extravaganza! I never seen that much extent of options and they were top notch! It is a big hotel so they had to limit time so we got busy exploring different items. We did not have dinner there but I wonder what it would have been like. We went out to a local mom and pop bar. The immediate area did not seem to have many options for eating out though. The hot spring bath was nice. We enjoyed going between inside and olhalf-outside baths. We didn't do this but saw used the sauna and cold bath. The view from the room was wonderful, looking at snow-capped mountain ridges. The only con is that we were a family of 5 and had to get separated into two rooms. It would have been nice to stay together in one room with five futons. Maybe they were out of bigger rooms when we booked? The location was good for a car access. It is away from the city center of Nagano so if you travel by train, a taxi ride would be needed. But we were pleasantly surprised by what this Matsushiro area had to offer. After checking out we drove a few minutes to the Matsushiro historic residential area, parked, strolled the old Shinto shrine and Buddhist temples. Then we toured into the enormous cave that Imperial Japan dug near the end of WWII to move the headquarter from Tokyo. They never actually moved, but they preserved the cave as a historic site. big military "

"Lovely clean, friendly hotel that is near the station so easy to get to. The breakfast is wonderful and complimentary noodles are served each evening. The spa facilities are great with lovely products which are all complimentary. There is ice cream to enjoy for free after the onsen and free juice and coffee in reception! A great stay! "

"They were able to accommodate a last minute booking. Rooms were large for Japanese standard and the free breakfast was better than some we've paid for (eggs, ham, curry, soup, drinks). Would stay here again."
