“Historic Hideaway was perfect stay while we were in town for a wedding. It is definitely a historic house. We loved it. The bedding was nice and the mattresses in all the rooms appeared newish and were very comfortable. It has large common spaces to gather and visit or watch tv. We did not cook, but the kitchen seemed well-appointed and having coffee and tea available was nice. And an electric corkscrew - who could ask for more!Because it is an old house it has short ceilings and door frames……

“I spent 2 serene weeks here and hope to return some day! With modern creature comforts in the kitchen, the rest of this home is very rustic. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and are into drawing, cooking or reading books to the sounds of trees rustling and water flowing across the street, you will be in heaven here. For summer months, note that there is only a small portable AC unit in the sunroom. There are several fans and it was manageable in early summer, but I imagine it is quite……

“House was clean. The only problem was there was nowhere to put clothes in bedrooms or a nightstand/ bedside lamp. Otherwise house was nice. ”

“Hot tub not working, the water was warm. The room furniture was in poor condition/damaged(I have pictures). My husband and I were very disappointed. We expected better considering the name Doubletree. The room had a very uncomfortable smell coming from the AC unit which became stronger when you turned it to a warm setting. “unfortunatly, our experience was disappointing. when we pulled back the blanket on the bed, we noticed a personal item left behind from previous guests, which made it clear that the bedding had not beed properly changed on the room. this was quite uncomfortable and concerning for us. in additioon, the breackfast did not seem fresh and overall quality was below our expectation.”
