「Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again.」

「The kitchenette rooms are lovely and spacious with good facilities. Beds are huge and super comfy, TV was massive! Room was clean and quiet. Staff both at reception and at the breakfast were very friendly and made you feel at ease. Breakfast was especially good with lots of nice options, you don’t feel rushed to get in and out so you can really take your time in there. A lovely stay.」

「We had a lovely 3 day stay here. Staff were brilliant, very welcoming and helpful . The Hotel had a lovely feel about it and our room was lovely with everything we could need. Everywhere was clean, breakfast was amazing. Really great stay and would highly recommend.」

「Nice sizeable and comfortable room. Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. But a great old pub to stay in all the same. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.」

「The room was not very big and the bathroom was very small. The staff were very helpful and friendly.」

「Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned 」

「The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice but not the most helpful when I called before our stay. It took two phone calls to find out if there was somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening. Breakfast was quite nice. Evening meal in the Bistro was very average. The coffee in the room was nescafe instant sachets which was very disappointing for 4* hotel, and the decaf at breakfast was also nescafe instant. However, the price we paid was very good.
