“Clean small apartment - walkable to a bustling part of the city. Shinjuku is an exciting area and just outside of the east station exit is a bit like vegas-meets-NY. I knew the area was active but I did not realize this apartment was smack in the middle of the night life (host bars, love hotels, etc) part of town. “The hotel is self service type, don’t expect service of normal hotel. Still I met a staff during check and she is nice and helpful. The room has a double bed, which is a bit small (kind of standard in Japan). But it provides sofa bed for 3 more guests. So it is good for family of 4-5. The room is pretty new. “The accommodation was in a good location, but the bed was very average, with a very thin blanket that was not warm enough for the colder nights. The pillows were also pancake thin. Once checked in, we had no way of communicating with the owners to ask for a warmer blanker, other than talking to the bar staff at night.
