“Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend.”

“We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests……

“The breakfast was superb. We tried the evening menu special which was a Pheasant breast.It wasn't the best I've tasted, it was nicely presented but it was rather salty and dry. The bed mattress provided a good nights sleep and the room was spacious and clean. Well worth the 5 stars”

“It is a great hostel, clean, comfortable, I stay for 2 nights. It is a great experience. The hostel next to the lake. The view is wonderful. Staff are nice. They tell me the footpath from Ambleside to grasmere. Only one thing is that it is not free for luggage storage. ”

“This is a decent place to stay if you go in with expectations in check. It’s roomy and cozy, with conveniences like a washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove/oven/microwave, and some cooking equipment. Lighting is good, lots of outlets is a plus. Internet functions fine, don’t expect blazing speed but certainly adequate. Easy access to dumpsters/recycling is also great. Local area is cute and walkable, convenient if small town shopping is your bag. Be aware parking is tight if you have a larger……

“The property was immaculate. Every room was very clean and tidy. Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure how 4 adults would feel as it might be a bit on the small side, especially if you are tall people as the ceilings are low. Parking might be a bit tricky. There is space outside for one car, although the road is narrow at that point. There seems to be space on the next road along though, or as the owner suggests in the nearby pay carpark. Its handy to walk into Ambleside or down to the lake as……
