“I had to go to Kill Devil Hills for the wedding of a cousin, plus my birthday. I had never stayed at a hotel in this area before, so I relied on the reviews of other travelers. Shutters on the Banks received very good reviews and rating, so I chose it. This hotel is right on the beach. It was exceptionally clean in my room. I was very impressed. “We've stayed here multiple times and have found it perfect for us. We get poolside rooms, because they are all 1st floor, ocean side can be 2nd floor (no elevator).You literally walk through a breeze way and your on the beach. Staff are friendly, restaurants are in walking distance and pool is kept clean. We highly recommend!”

“Place was nice and close to everything. Even walkable if you feel like taking a stroll. Had all you need for comfy stay. Beds were comfy, shower was hot and balcony was nice. Breakfast was not bad. Your typical hotel Breakfast but had it all. Pool was very nice. The beach was nice too, but be prepared for a journey through deep sand at entrance point. Parking easy. Staff very nice. Elevator situation was interesting but I just used the stairs to main elevator. Nice beach hotel.”

“My daughter and I had a nice stay for two nights. Clean room, beds, and bathroom. The room included a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom had a walk-in shower. The toilet was small and it was a little crammed in the bathroom, but we managed. This renovated motel is an unique find. It's two buildings; one directly on the beachfront and one just a walk to the beachfront. We stayed in the one from the beach. I highly recommend this motel for quick getaway to the beach.”

“The parking lot is definitely tight and requires you to turn around in a tight space. I don’t recommend bringing big cars. Most of the rooms overlook parking lots on both sides so we had to keep the shades closed most of the time. That being said it was super clean. They provide a great number of towels which was appreciated - and they were super soft. The property was old but that allows you to be right on the beach with beach access so it’s a great trade up. “It was so clean and bright inside! It made me feel happy even though it was rainy outside and a bit gloomy. Loved the attached restaurant with the amazing pizza! I walked just 13 minutes to get to downtown Manteo and that was a lovely walk. Close to sights like the aquarium and Festival Park. Staff was super helpful too!”
