The main falls in rock island state park are a site to see. They stretch a few hundred feet wide! Slowly cascading down a side of a rock faced wall. It is a short but tenuous hike to see the falls. But, they are some of the best you can see in the south east. Maybe not the tallest or most water flowing, but it is a beautiful, slow, and pooling fall. As an added bonus the river it flows into is controlled by a dam, so you can at times get up to the waterfall, and at other times raft the river which I'm guessing is a class 3-4. A friend of mine has rafted it from the northern most spot to put in to the falls, and he said it was technical, he's done it a few times now.

“The staff was very friendly. We loved that they had a white board with all the goings-on for each day next to a map with how far away things were. Room was clean and much bigger than we expected with a beautiful city view on the corner. The toiletries were high quality and the kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies. “We stayed for my friends 40th birthday and it was a great experience. There was a Christmas themed rooftop bar, set up with festive decor and delicious drinks. It was cold, so although we couldn't enjoy the rooftop itself the bar had a great view. We also enjoyed the room, everything was very clean and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. There are some places to eat in walking distance, but SO much is a 6-10$ uber ride away. It is quiet there, so if you're looking for some Broadway……
