“Drinks and dinner were great. Breakfast very good as well. Room in very good condition”

“The rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned since this is a pet friendly hotel. I had dog hair all over my room. The carpet had not been vacuumed and the floor not mopped. This was the second time in a month that I had stayed there and this time I was not happy with the appearance of my room.”

“I live this hotel first time. Great service! Perfect location”

“There were 3 crackers making noise all night long after turn off the light& cost me over an hour to find/kill each one after another but the the 4th cracker is stilling there, so finally I give up & checked out around 03:20 am in the small hour. The staff's response was: "There is the season......" Request full refund damage.”

“Love Whiskey Mansion. Beautiful old mansion!! Staff were excellent!! Breakfast delicious!! The woodwork in the house was so beautiful!! Will be back!! A real gem in St Joseph!!”

“Wonderful hospitality and a beautiful apartment. Our only difficulty was rather steep stairs for elderly guests. Overall we loved it!”

“It was ok for A short stay”

“I don’t know how this place is open and operational. Musty, moldy, everywhere - rooms clearly not well maintained - black mold recently wiped from walls, A/C units blowing moldy contaminated air, fire exits blocked-locked-unusable, dangerous and unhealthy. Allergies and asthma symptoms started immediately. Staff said they would refund my three night stay and then declined refund to my 3rd party travel company and were non-responsive. We were there for a total of 30 minutes and couldn’t……

“Great location, clean, kitchen stove needs an exhaust fan.”

“Not for us. “Vintage” means old & creaky, narrow doorways and old bathroom fixtures. Not romantic as was expected from reviewers. “Do it yourself breakfast” was unexpected and why would we want to cook while on vacation and in a strange kitchen? Then there was no OJ, no fresh muffins or pastries, only prepackaged foods. The only decaf coffee was instant and no plain coffeemate. Only whole milk. We went to Perkins! Across the street were barking dogs and other guests (a family) talked……

“Had a hiccup when first checking in BUT the owner was quick with replies and taking care of issue. Place is exactly as described. Quiet, off beaten path, river view house. Very nice sunsets. This was the perfect rental for me, I like an off the beaten path place - yet still a 10-15 min max drive to all needs. Beds were comfy, water was hot, and view was excellent. Would suggest to bring slippers for inside house. If a light sleeper bring earplugs. Train comes by quite a bit. Sometimes not……

“We were a group of 4 women on a girl's trip and this was the perfect location. We were able to do arts & Crafts outside enjoying the sounds of nature. A Bald Eagle came and visited us a couple times a day. It was perfect size for the 4 of us. We enjoyed cooking dinner inside each night and doing a fire bowl and smores at night. The host. Anthony, is one of the best hosts Ive stayed with. Always a good quick line of communication and always very clean accommodations. We would definitely stay……

“Great old style place. The furnishings and decorations are well done , they perfectly fit the style. It’s a neat snapshot of history with the creaky floors and old school fixtures, and it would definitely be a place we would stay again.”

“It was clean. The beds were comfortable and having a view of the river was great.”

“Thankyou so much! This is such a cute peaceful cabin! Definitely would stay again! It has everything you b would need! So nice sitting on the patio drinking coffee! Thankyou b so much!”
