This resort is rated as 4 star but it’s not really. Maximum a 3 star. What we like is The beach and the size of the rooms was large. There were 7 of us.
We didn’t like the long wait at check-in and check-out (unnecessary wait, they make it too complicated thus the long line). Didn’t like the food choices, not enough food very limited. The management and staff don’t communicate thus can’t help us when problems arises (roaches in our room, they fumigated our rooms without notice, just enter the room without notice. They sprayed outside the hall way and inside our rooms (not cool). Drinks are full of sugar drinks not quality drinks or food. We had all inclusive packages paid $10k and the staff and management teams did nothing to show that they value our businesses. All they focus on is how much you tip them! Oh, no A/C in the lobby where you line up to check in and out, it was so so hot in lobby no air movement. Do not use the phone to call anywhere, even local calls they charge an arm a leg for it. We will return to Cancun in the winter time but will not stay at Melia Casa Maya again. It’s not worth it. Oh one more thing, even though it’s a buffet you have to line up while they cook some of the food, again very long line and not enough at the buffet.
