I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. We paid a significant amount for the room and even more to upgrade to the all-inclusive package, expecting to be able to enjoy the hotel’s amenities during our stay. However, we quickly discovered that many of the facilities advertised were not actually available to guests. When we tried to book services such as massages or use certain facilities like the gym, we were told these were only accessible if you became a member. This wasn’t a normal hotel membership either — it required paying for a separate membership that lasts five years. This felt very misleading, as these amenities appear to be part of the hotel experience but are not actually available to regular guests. On top of this, the food and drinks included in the all-inclusive package were very disappointing and well below the standard we expected for the price we paid. Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the hotel’s advertising. We paid a premium expecting a relaxing, full-service stay, but instead felt that many things were restricted or not worth the cost. Future guests should be made aware of these limitations before booking.

First of all I had booked a king size and they gave us 2 twins and a handicap room. So I went to the front desk and told them so they can change our room and the manager told us room 905 so we went up stairs and when we walked in there were towels all on the floor on the side of the bed and in the showers the soap and shampoo dripping down the wall and to top it off the bed had pubic hairs and also on the pillows. I went down stairs and called room service to clean the room. After that they treated us like we were nobody we would go to the restaurant and they would take care of all the Americans and us took them half of my meal to bring us a glass of water. That’ll be the last time I will book in the Sunset Royal.

Could not get american dollars at hotel. We could not make change as well. Make sure you bring smaller bills staff was courteous. Check out is posted for 11am but was called that morning to be out by 9pm. Our flight was later so we had to sit on n lobby longer than expected due to getting kicked out of our room at 9am.

The hotel Expedia recommended was overbooked. When we arrived at Sunset Royal Beach, an all inclusive hotel, they checked us in and after we paid the room taxes they informed us they were overbooked. They said they would put us in a better hotel that was down the street; however, the hotel, Hacienda Tres Ríos was an hour away. The room was supposed to be an upgrade but we had to ask them to stock the refrigerator, bring a blow dryer, the phone wasn’t working properly, the plug next to the bed wasn’t working, the back door wouldn’t lock properly and a small wooden door fell off the wall because it wasn’t mounted properly to the wall. The screw from the door scratched my friend’s hand when she attempted to catch the small door from hitting the floor. We attempted to order cocktails and were told we couldn’t order the premium alcohol. We attempted to order a ribeye steak and we were told we couldn’t order the premium items on the menu. We paid for an all inclusive resort and now it was no longer all inclusive for us. The ocean was not a pretty blue color like we thought we were getting and what we had paid for at the other hotel. There was no shopping areas around us so if we wanted to go shopping in Cancun we had to pay for a taxi to take us an hour away. We met approx. 10 other families that were sent to this hotel due to overbooking at Sunset Royal Beach. It appeared that Sunset Royal Beach purposely overbooked their hotel so they could send people to Hacienda Tres Ríos.

We were not able to check into Sunset Royal. Apparently, they had overbooked and sent us to a different resort with restrictions and horrible location. We met a few other families with the same situation, and they also booked with Expedia. Are they doing it to all Expedia Reservations? I am losing faith in Expedia. Ruined my vacation.

Room was noisy, and has single facial, hand, and bath towel for 2 guest, multiple requests to receive additional towel. A la carte dinning was mediocre. No menu available you had to view it from your cellphone . Seafood choices was limited to tilpia every day. Leftover from lunch served as Asian stir-fry at nite. Free water taxi was nice but did not follow the schedule. Had to wait 30 plus minutes to show up Seems understaffed at times, only had a single cook during lunch at the Marina resort outdoor dinning, had to wait 30 minutes to get our food, and our pizza was burnt Free water sport only had a few kayaks, no paddle board or pedal boat

Room 405 was noisy, we were exposed to the kitchen and Capriccio restaurant noises until very late at night and again early in the morning. Reception did move us to room 326 away from restaurant, but we were left stranded 2 hrs Without a room for 2 hrs because the new room was not cleaned until 430 pm. The hot water system is deficient, shower had to run for 10 minutes before getting hot water. Only 1 of the 3 hot tub had functional water jet and water temperature was lukewarm, not hot. Restaurant dinning service was very slow, and of spotty quality. The Tepanyaki beef,shrimp and chicken ordered did not come with any shrimp, and consisted of leftover beef and chicken fajitas from lunch. The breakfasts are much better than their dinner. The staffs were very courteous and accommodating.

Excellent staff!! They’re so accommodating and flexible. They made sure we would enjoy our stay here. And loved the food!! Food in the buffet was not the same everyday, which I really liked. Definitely recommended!!
