"The place was not even noticeable from the outside ( I thought maybe I was in the wrong place when the Lyft dropped me off), but the room (and bathroom) was just gorgeous - more like a cozy well-appointed guest house. And there was a local pastry and glass of port to greet me in the room to greet me on check-in. There's not really much of lobby - just a small front desk. The young woman who manned it, however, was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat, and to go hear fado. Very unfortunately, they had a power outage at the hotel while I was there, though, which wasn't great."

"What a lovely birthday surprise from the hotel! I didn’t mention that I was celebrating my wife’s birthday when I made the booking, but when we returned after dinner on her birthday, they had prepared a bottle of wine and a cake for us! Such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture.
I booked a Deluxe Room, which was spacious and clean. The location is also great, with several excellent restaurants within walking distance."
